A Multi-Modal Energy Harvesting Device for Multi-Directional and Low-Frequency Wave Energy

As a kind of sustainable energy source, ocean wave has always attracted attention. Because the characteristics multi-directions and low-bandwidth, harvesting been difficult. To harvest broadband in multiple directions improve power generation efficiency, we present multi-modal device by using cross beam structure. In this device, efficient multi-frequency vibration achieved structure high efficiency electric based on liquid metal. Contrast experiments show that not only capability multi-directional but also can work sweep range full band. Under horizontal excitation, compared with traditional single cantilever structure, peak density increased to 2227% working frequency band 6.25 times. The experimental results significantly improves low-bandwidth harvesting, providing new method for harvesting.
